About me
I am an independent charity consultant, with 20 years’ experience working with human rights, migration and social justice organisations.
I have always been deeply committed to the not-for-profit sector, and passionate about its role in bringing about a better, fairer society. After over a decade in senior management roles for charities, I now support other organisations in developing, delivering and evaluating their work. I bring particular expertise, insights and connections on refugee and migration issues.
I began my career in 2004 after graduating with an MSc in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics. After running projects with the United Nations Development Programme and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, I was the manager of small charity European Dialogue.
From 2008-15 I was the policy director at UK charity the Migrants Rights Network (MRN), leading on analysis, public campaigns and media work, and running the All Party Parliamentary Group on Migration. I also led on MRN’s fundraising, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
Since 2015, I have worked with numerous charities, trusts and foundations as a consultant, providing research, strategy and evaluation support. I draw on my wide expertise and contacts to help organisations develop new projects, partnerships or funding streams.
I am a firm believer in supporting charitable organisations through good governance. I was a trustee for community development organisation the Hackney March Partnership for three years, and have sat on the board of trustees for Refugee Support Devon since January 2021.
After many years living in London, I am based just outside Exeter, in Devon. I mainly work remotely and travel for work where needed. I am happy to work alone, but also enjoy collaborating with other consultants and agencies.
